A hotel's developer is currently seeking city permits for a site they purchased back in 2016 on the corner of West Clybourn and North Plankinton Avenue in downtown Milwaukee. According to an article in The Business Journal, the developer may be moving forward with plans to build a 132 room Cambria hotel.
Several other recent hotel developments are underway, according to The Business Journal, "The project marks another significant hotel investment in and around downtown Milwaukee. Other major projects underway now include conversion of a former office building at East Wisconsin Avenue and North Water Street into a Drury Plaza Hotel with about 200 rooms. The former Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center is being restored and expanded into a new hotel that would be run by another new name to the market, Portland-based Provenance Hotels. The Hyatt Place Downtown Milwaukee near the new Milwaukee Bucks arena opens later this month, and construction started in December on a second hotel tower at the Potawatomi Hotel and Casino."
